The sea-terraces
Six classes of terraces, high grounds levelled by the sea and variation in sea level during the different ice ages, which leave the evidence (one of a kind) of the geological history of this land, where the ancient and recent terrains meet and overlap. Red, sandy, fertile and iron-rich soils bear witness of the geography of the coast over thousands of years and of the geological eras: here, it appears as if our vines grow on dry seabed, with rocks, seashells and sea-fossils.
